Get a second opinion
Register for an online second opinion
Start your registration for a virtual second opinion with a Mass General Brigham specialist.
If you have received a life-changing diagnosis, have unexplained symptoms, or are unsure about a treatment plan, getting a second opinion can help you make informed decisions about your care.
Our Online Second Opinions service makes it easy for you and your physician to consult with a leading Mass General Brigham expert from wherever you call home. We provide second opinions across nearly every medical specialty, reducing travel and wait times.
When requested by your local physician, an MGB specialist will provide a detailed letter to help confirm a diagnosis or explore treatment options. You will also receive a copy of the letter. We require the primary doctor treating you to take part in the consultation process. Once registration and medical information are received, the remove second opinion is typically completed within 10 business days. In-person consultations are also available upon request.*
* Due to current regulatory constraints, we cannot provide Online Second Opinions to patients living in Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, New Mexico, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, US Virgin Islands, and Wyoming. If you live in one of these states and would like to schedule an in-person appointment at Mass General Brigham, please contact the clinical department directly.
